Tim Gossage was born in Bunbury and has lived 48 of his 52 years in this glorious city that is Perth. For Goss, growing up was about playing sport but his focus shifted towards the media industry during his first job as an office boy at the West Australian Newspaper, where it became his goal to be a sports reporter.
Goss has now been working in radio for more than 30 years and for him, 6iX means he can live that dream every morning by bringing the 6iX audience a mix of music, all things Perth and hopefully a smile at the start of their day. It’s Goss’ Dad, Len, who inspires him each day and who always said: “If I wasn’t doing it, someone else will be”.
For Goss the best thing about Perth is that it’s a long way away from the rest of the country. His perfect holiday is hanging out at home with his family and pets (though he would leave home to go on tour with Bucks Fizz). If you were to raid Goss’ iPod, you would find these three songs under ‘Most Played’; Horses by Daryl Braithwaite, Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles and December ’63 (Oh What A Night) by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.
If you want to get on his good side? Coffee, just bring him an extra hot long mac topped up.
You can catch 6iX Breakfast Perth with Tim Gossage weekdays from 5:30am-9am – the breakfast show with the most music!
